FIRST®, through the generous support from our sponsor Stellantis, have available FIRST® LEGO® League Class Pack grants being offered to individual schools, school districts, and youth-serving organizations to support the implementation of FIRST LEGO League programs through resources, staff training, and ongoing support and consultation for the 2025-2026 school year.
 

This grant opportunity is designed with the goal to support sites in building a sustainable FIRST LEGO League robotics program so that more youth have access to robotics to build the technical, research, and social-emotional skills needed for their futures.

Grant Options: your choice of programming (you can apply to implement one, two or all program divisions):

Option 1) FIRST® LEGO® League Discover (ages 4-6; grades PreK-1) Class Pack

  • One (1) FIRST® LEGO® League Discover Class Pack Registration (each Class Pack serves 8 students - you are eligible to apply for multiple to serve the total number of students per classroom)
  • One (1) reusable LEGO® Education STEAM Park sets 
  • Printed and Digital Class Pack materials through the FIRST Thinkscape Portal
  • One (1) virtual seat of FIRST LEGO League Discover Professional Development Training for every (3) Discover Class Packs
  • Shipping costs & any applicable sales taxes, if site is not tax-exempt

Option 2) FIRST® LEGO® League Explore (ages 6-10; grades 2-4) Class Pack

Option 3) FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge (ages 9-14; grades 4-8) Class Pack


***NOTE*** A maximum of (30) FIRST LEGO League Discover Class Packs, (15) FIRST LEGO League Explore Class Packs, and (15) FIRST LEGO League Challenge Class Packs, per school district in total is eligible for award. Varying amounts across multiple schools is acceptable, but total awarded quantities will not exceed district maximum.


Grants Requirements:

  • Participation of one (1) staff member in 2-day live, virtual training (14 hours), per program of implementation
  • Supply adequate computer devices for robot programming (sites responsibility)
  • Hold an "End of Season" event/expo where participating youth celebrate, present, and/or host a mini competition showcasing their involvement over the implementation and present their robot and research project
  • Participate in staff surveys - upon grant award sites will be required to provide contact information (name and email) for the educator(s) implementing grant materials 
  • Share with FIRST stories of success to be shared with sponsors in appreciation for their support - these can be in the form of Thank You notes to the sponsor, spotlight success stories, photos, etc. 
  • Continuing participation in Year 2 is expected as situation allows and would be the financial responsibility of the site.
  • Sites must be able to complete all grant deliverables by August 30, 2026. 


Youth Outreach Requirements:

  • Total of at least 24 youth, per program/Class Pack (16 students for FIRST LEGO League Discover)
  • Student population of underserved and/or underrepresented communities
  • Title 1 sites, preferred
  • 50% or more student population on free and/or reduced lunch

Anticipated Notification of Award: Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis until funding is exhausted.
Program Material Shipments: Within 7-10 business days after completing registration & check out in your FIRST Account Dashboard.
